Today’s image is a three shot multiple exposure image of the reflection of a lady behind a chained-link fence. I moved the camera position slightly between each exposure.
Enjoy.
Camera settings: Nikon D3, Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8, shot at ISO 200, 200mm, f/4.8 and 1/60th of a second.
Post Processing in Lightroom—Set white and black points, added mid-tone contrast, increased saturation of red, orange and yellow.
Very nice Patrick!
ReplyDeleteI like this shot a lot! I love her expression! It really makes the viewer want to ponder the story behind the photo. I also really love the tonality of the colors and play of warm and cool colors. Your composition is excellent as well!
So I love the shot but ... it isn't abstract is it? It is out of focus but everything is pretty literal isn't it?
Anyway...well done!
Barry
I agree with Barry, this multiple exposure is one I can get my mind around. It has recognizable elements that my imagination can make sense of. I like the blur and I like how her lips have the most detail in her face. I also wonder if it can be called an "abstract" or maybe it is an image that breaks photographic rules, but in any case it has impact and is very interesting to look at. I would like to hear how you took this reflection shot too.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Barry and Cindi, I am not sure this is an abstract. This is definitely a photo that makes you want to know a lot more about the person, who she is, why is she looking like that, what does the fence have to do with her, what is the reflection in the upper right hand corner. I could think of a lot more questions but I think you get the point. If your purpose in these shots is to get me to question then you did it with this one. Nice job

I get a little uneasy feeling when I look at this image. I think there is something wrong but I have no idea what it could be. Good composition and colors. Great at making me think about what I am seeing.

Abstraction indicates a departure from reality to convey imagery ( a collection of pictures) in art...according to Wikipedia. You are looking for a visual meaning that the abstract art communicates to you. I'd say from the above comments that each person found some visual meaning, thus, abstract art.
ReplyDeleteA great image....since the lips are in focus...are you sure you didn't use Lensbaby??
I don't normally like abstactions, maybe because I shoot too many when I'm not trying too, but I like this one a lot. Probably because, as the other commentators have noted, it's not as abstract as your other post in the series. Nice job.
