Oregon Trip #3—Colors and Shapes along the Seashore

JD and I spent lots of time walking on the beaches and exploring tidal pools.  Oregon’s beaches are beautiful.  The rocks and color of the plants and animal life makes for a lot of different things to study all along the shoreline.
Here, I tried to capture the colors of some sea weed and rocks that I found along the shore.  I really liked the contrast between the forms and the colors
Enjoy.
Camera settings:  Nikon D3, Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 shot at 62mm with polarizing filter attached,  ISO 200, f/9.5 and 1/180th of a second.
Post Processing:
Lightroom—Adjusted white balance and mid tone contrast.

  1. It is amazing how many things in nature take on a fine art look. Colors are great and composition is very effective. Did you move anything?

  2. Good color combination. Subject matter may be a little suspect however I see what you wanted to do with this one.

  3. The composition seems unbalanced with so many of the rocks at the top of the image and a lot of dead space near the bottom of the image. I do like the colors and the basic pattern of the plants.

  5. I like the color palette of this shot. I find myself looking all around this one for something I might have missed at first glance. I really like this photo.

  6. What I find interesting about this one is that you saw a photo in some stuff laying on a beach. Most people would not see it. I think most people would do wise in looking at things like this and trying to make a photography out of what looks like a very common element in our environment.
