Assemble the Skyline #3

Sometimes, I like a photo but do not know why I like it.  That’s the case with this photo of Luke.  It is a very simple photo, yet I find myself studying it.

Camera settings:  Nikon D3, Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 shot at 60mm, ISO 800, f/8 1/60th of a second.
Post Processing:  
Lightroom 3—set white and black point and added mid tone contrast.

    I suspect it's the eyes. There is something unsaid in his expression and eyes.

    His look draws you into the photo and like you I do not know why.

    His expression does make this a compelling image, along with his body position --- a little turned away from the camera but looking back toward the photographer. Also I like the simple background and the way the shadows have framed him.
